For as long as the construction of libraries in the villages isn't possible, the Public Library in Leeuwarden let's a so-called Bibliobus drive around. This is a small library build on the chassis of a Renault lorry, which stops in several villages. SHOTS: - The driver/librarian of teh bus, Wilke Meyboom(?), cleans the windscreen of the bus and drives off; - shots from the bus during the ride through the countryside; Wilke turns the wheel; - on a narrow country road she steers the bus, with one wheel in the shoulder, around an obstacle; - the bus enters the main street of a village; older children are already waiting for the bus; a buinch of small children run after the bus; - farmers children leave the farm and head for the bus with books under their arms; - in the street walks a mother with two toddlers; - a man with a NS cap(?) heads towards the bus, takes off his clogs and enters; - int. bus: three walls are entirely covered with book shelves; the daylight enters through a window in the roof; -the people look for the books they want on the shelves; Wilke helps them find the books and, sitting behind a small table, lends them out; - ext. bus, parked in the village street; - bus leaves the village.
