Impressions of the beautiful en good and the ugly and bad parts in Paramnaribo, the capital of Suriname. SHOTS: - aerial shots Paramaribo; - street shots and city shots: a.o. Governement Palace and other fine free-standing public buildings, many of them in old Ducth style, all situated along wide, good paved streets; statue of queen Wilhelmina; little traffic (some donkey carts); shopping streets with lots of Chinese signs; street trading; - ghettos: small linked slums; laundry hangs from the clothesline between the "houses"; "dirty" and shabby "dressed" adults and children walk barefooted on the non-paved narrow "streets"; open sewer with still water; - new development with working-class houses (not yet occupied); ext. houses.
