Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
People stop working and leave to go on holiday in different ways. The footage was made in several different places in the Netherlands. SHOTS: - people take off their working clothes and leave their workplace; - travel brochures are piled up; - people pack their suitcases; - several shots of trains, cars, busses; - a large number of people on bicycles, a.o. a bicycle with sidecar containing children and luggage, tandems, carrier cycle with mother and children in the front, while father pedals; - advertising board for car rental without a chauffeur; - children and adults load up a car in front of a house and drive off with it; - people enjoying their holiday at the beach and in the sea; - people sailing on an inland waterway in canoes and a family in a rowing boat with a.o. a gramophone aboard; - dancing people and a fishing man.
