The pumping-station De Blocq Vankuffeler pumps the polder of southern Flevoland dry. After four months parts of the polder have already dried up. Seven months later the polder has officially dried up and the pumping-station now serves as an outlet for the polder water which is discharged via the already created canals. Reed seeds are sown on the soggy land of the polder with agricultural airplanes. This helps against weeds and withdraws water from the ground.
