Impression of the daily business of making ship propellers in the foundry of Lips in Drunen. First a pattern and a mould are made. The mould is filled with liquid manganese bronze from a ladle. After it has cooled down the mould is chipped off and the rough propeller, meant for the ship "Willem Ruys", is transported to the turner's shop to be made smooth.
