Week number 48-50
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
An impression of the KNMI in De Bilt, on the occasion of the fact that the Dutch meteorologist Buys Ballot started with meteorological observations 100 years ago. SHOTS: - man predicts rain on teh basis of his stinging callus; - listener turns the tuning knob of his radio; - ext. KNMI with observation tower; - details of different instruments: anemometer, thermometer, self-recording measuring instruments, seismograph and rain gauge; - employees let up a balloon with a radio probe; - in an observatory the data from the probe coming in through the radio are put on paper; - telex typist transfers the data to elsewhere; - employee draws a weather chart with isobars(?).
