Once every seven years the Sanctuary Procession takes place in Maastricht, this time the religious happening draws in almost a quarter of a million people. SHOTS: procession moves across the Vrijthof, watched by a.o. cardinal Willebrands, bishop Gijsen van Roermond and minister Dries van Agt; Maria statue, busts and the shrines of St. Lambertus and Saint Servaas from Liège are carried in the procession, which leads through the centre of Maatsricht and across the Saint Servaas bridge.
