Sculptor Mari Andriessen is now 70 years old. An honourary exhibition has been put up in the Vleeshal (Meat hall) in Haarlem, with a.o. the statues of composer Alphons Diepenbrock, a man in front og the firing squad, the flood of Walcheren and queen Wilhelmina. Andriessen receives several gifts at the exhibition and children of his brother, composer Hendrik Andriessen, play music. Also Andriessen at work in his studio. With the statues De Dokwerker (The Dock worker) in Amsterdam, De treurende weduwe (The grieving widow) in Putten, P.C. Lely at the Afsluitdijk (Enclosure dam) and the war monument in the city park of Enschede.
